Authorities in Jordan are set to decide whether to release the person of interest in the Jamey Carney murder case in the coming hours.

Under Jordanian law, he can be held for an initial 15 days, after which there must be a court review.

The man left Ireland hours after Ms. Carney was killed at her home in Killarney on the 6th of July, and was detained after travelling to Jordan.

A Garda investigation is said to be progressing "at pace", with two detective inspectors visiting Jordan last week.
