Meta employs 8,000 people worldwide and around 1,800 people are employed by the company in Ireland.
Job cut announcements come as the company announced it was investing more money into artificial intelligence.
If they're affected by this round of cuts, the Government will receive a collective redundancy notice today informing it of the decision.
