The parent company of Facebook and Instagram announced last month it was cutting 10% of its global workforce.
10% of Meta's workforce equalling 8,000 worldwide will lose their job after the company announced it was investing more money into artificial intelligence.
There is 1,800 people employed by the company in Ireland.
If they're affected by this round of cuts, the Government will receive a collective redundancy notice today informing it of the decision.
