The incident happened at about 7:50pm last night
A motorcyclist in his 20s has been killed in a road crash in County Laois.
It happened on the N77 at the junction of the Portlaoise Road and Ballyroan Road in Abbeyleix at about 10 to 8 last night.
No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved.
The man's body has been taken to the mortuary at Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and the road from the main street of Abbeyleix to Tonduff Cross remains closed this morning with diversions in place.
