Over 100 People Gather In Dublin Following Death Of Congolese Man

Gardaí say an investigation is underway into the death of 35-year-old Yves Sakila.

Over 100 people gathered on Henry Street this afternoon following the death of a Congolese man in Dublin on Friday.

Gardaí say an investigation is underway into the death of 35-year-old Yves Sakila.

A video circulating online appears to show part of the incident, with Mr Sakila being restrained by several security staff following an alleged shoplifting incident, before Gardaí arrived at the scene.

Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan and Taoiseach Micheál Martin have said that a thorough investigation will be carried out into the cause of death.
