A man is in a critical condition following a collision in Galway city this morning.
The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was hit by a truck on Prospect Hill at around 10am.
The man was taken to University Hospital Galway, where his condition is understood to be critical.
The road at the site of the collision is closed for a forensic exam and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
