The lab will be the focal point of 25 such labs around the country.
Plans have been announced to open a new National Digital Health Innovation Lab at the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.
This will be a focal point for the network of 25 Digital Living labs which have been set up across the country.
Digital Transformation is part of HSE Change and Innovation which is chartered to drive onnovation across the HSE.
The lab will be used as an innovation centre for co-designing and iterating novel digital solutions which improve care outcomes, reduce cost, improve patient/clinician experience and improve quality of life.
The shared collaborative lab space is being created adjacent to the modern Tullamore Hospital.
The HSE Q4 virtual Digital Academy Forum will be live from the planned new lab
Enterprise Ireland is collaborating with the HSE to accelerate the development and deployment of Irish digital health and lifesciences companies.
This will facilitate access for Irish companies to the Irish health service to trial new innovations that have the potential to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs and deliver efficiencies to the health service.
The plans were announced by HSE Digital Transformation and Innovation and the Dublin Midlands Hospital Group.
