The group were stopped in international waters around 45 nautical miles west of the Greek island Kythira.
Sallins man Colm Byrne is part of the Global Sumud Flotilla that has been intercepted on it's way to Gaza.

The flotilla is attempting to bring supplies and equipment to Gaza, and have been stopped by Israel before.
Mr Byrne was on board 'The Romantica', one of 11 boats that that were intercepted.
He spoke on Kildare Today earlier this month about his second flotilla involvement.
