Slane Castle's Concert Pioneer, Lord Henry Mount Charles, Passes Away At 74 After Long Cancer Battle

He took over running Slane Castle in County Meath in 1976, and transformed it into a music venue which has since welcomed the likes of The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Queen.

Lord Henry Mount Charles - best known for bringing rock concerts to Slane Castle - has died.

He passed away peacefully last night at the age of 74, following a long battle with cancer.

He took over running Slane Castle in County Meath in 1976, and transformed it into a music venue which has since welcomed the likes of The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Queen.

His family says he leaves behind "an extraordinary legacy", with his "visionary leadership" touching countless lives.
