Social Media Ban For Under-16s Must Include YouTube And Roblox, Says Cyber Safe Kids

Tánaiste Simon Harris said he would agree with a ban, similar to that being discussed in Australia, for under-16s.

Websites like Roblox and YouTube would need to be included in any social media ban for children.

That's the view of Cyber Safe Kids, after Tánaiste Simon Harris said he would agree with a ban, similar to that being discussed in Australia, for under-16s.

It would see young users forbidden access to apps like Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

Alex Cooney, CEO of Cyber Safe Kids, says there are some big sites being excluded from the list.
