The single-vehicle collision happened at around 9pm, on Carpenters Way, between Éire Óg GAA Club and Paupish Bridge.
A 17-year-old boy was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he later died.
An 18-year-old - who was a passenger in the vehicle - received medical treatment locally.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination which will take place this morning, and diversions are in place.
