A teenager is fighting for life after an assault in north Dublin, it happened in Swords last night.
This attack happened on Brookdale Avenue in Swords at around 7 O' Clock last night.
The 19 year old man was subjected to what Gardaí say was a 'serious assault'.
Its understood he suffered stab wounds.
He was rushed to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A man aged in his early 20's was arrested and is being held under section 4 of the criminal justice act at Swords garda station.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the attack to come forward.
