Two Teenage Boys From South Dublin School Die On Greek Island

They were named as Andrew O'Donnell and Max Wall.

Two leaving cert students from the same Dublin school have died while holidaying on the Greek island of Ios.

The 18 year old's who both attended St Michael's College in Dublin were on a post-Leaving Cert holidays.

St. Michael's college in Ballsbridge confirmed in separate postings on its website that two of its class of 2023 had died.

They were named as Andrew O'Donnell and Max Wall.

The school paid tribute to their sporting contribution to St. Michael's College and described both boys as being hugely popular with staff and fellow students.

The college added that its staff are available to speak with and assist any students who require support.

The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed last night that it staff in Greece were offering consular assistance to the respective families.

In a statement, The Spirtitan Education Trust, said: "Over the weekend the Spiritan Education family were shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news of the passing of two young men, Andrew O'Donnell and Max Wall, recent past students of St Michael’s College, Ailesbury Road.

"Our thoughts are with the parents and families of these two young men who today are suffering immeasurable loss.

"We extend our deepest sympathy and support to their grieving families, to all in their wider circle of friends and fellow classmates who will be mourning their passing and to the Board of Management, the school leaders and all our colleagues on the staff of St Michael's College."
