It is understood the incident happened on the M50 southbound between Junction 12 Firhouse and Junction 13 Dundrum.

There are major delays on the M50 this afternoon after an incident on the motorway.

It is understood the incident happened on the M50 southbound between Junction 12 Firhouse and Junction 13 Dundrum.

Gardaí are stopping traffic going onto the M50 southbound at J11 Tallaght.

In a post on social media, the gardaí said: “Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending at an incident on the M50 Southbound.

“Local diversions are in place from Junction 12 Southbound.
