The unions want to increase the amount of full-time and permanent contracts.

There's a call on the Government to engage with teaching unions over getting full-time and permanent contracts.

Sinn Fein's making the call over a proposal to share teachers in 'high demand' subjects in secondary schools from September.

Under the pilot scheme efforts would also be made to provide teachers with a full-time contract.

Sinn Fein's Education spokesperson Sorcha Clarke says the plan won't solve the recruitment and retention crisis:
