Organisers say asylum seekers are welcome in the Cork town.
Hundreds of people have attended a rally in Fermoy to show their solidarity with refugees.
A protest was held in the North Cork town earlier this week, after a group of asylum seekers were moved into a convent in the town.
However, the 'Fermoy and Mallow against Racism' group says the protest does not represent the majority of people locally.
Spokesperson Kate O’Connell says the event is about showing the asylum seekers they are welcome.
