A man is in a stable condition at Cork University Hospital

A man is in hospital following a shooting in Cork city.

Gardai say a man presented himself with gunshot wounds at Cork University Hospital in the early hours of this morning.

Gardai in Cork say they're investigating after a man arrived at Cork University Hospital with gunshot wounds shortly after 5 o'clock this morning.

He remains in a stable condition at CUH.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who was in the Wilton are of Cork city between 5 and 5.45 am this morning, and who may have noticed anything unusual, to contact them.

Any road users with video or dashcam footage are asked to are asked to make it available to investigating officers at Togher Garda Station.
