Over 6,000 People Under The Age 50 Resigned Or Retired From The HSE Last Year

2,173 people under 30 quit last year - up 39.

Over 6,200 HSE staff under the age of 50 resigned or retired last year.

According to freedom of information figures, it's a 15% increase on 2021.

A total of 10,162 HSE staff resigned or retired from the organisation last year.

It's a 15% increase on 2021, there was also an increase in the number of people leaving the organisation long before reaching retirement age.

2,173 people under 30 quit last year - up 39.

2,368 people aged between 30 and 40 left - up 436.

1,675 people aged between 40 and 50 resigned or retired - an increase of 326.

These totals are up significantly on 2020, when a total of 7,413 HSE staff left the organisation.

Sinn Fein's health spokesman, David Cullinane, says there are several factors:
