Gardai were called to the scene on Barrack Street shortly after 11 this morning by builders who were working on a site and had found the remains.
Work was stopped and the scene was preserved.

The remains will be dealt with as an archaeological find, and officers say it's no longer a matter for An Garda Síochána.
