The Cork City Coroner and the Assistant State Pathologist say the bones are over 70 years old.
Skeletal remains have been discovered at a building site in Cork.
Gardai were called to the scene on Barrack Street shortly after 11 this morning by builders who were working on a site and had found the remains.
Work was stopped and the scene was preserved.
Cork City Coroner was assisted by the Assistant State Pathologist Dr. Margaret Bolster and they say the bones are over 70 years old.
The remains will be dealt with as an archaeological find, and officers say it's no longer a matter for An Garda Síochána.
