A family from Athy welcomed a little baby boy at 2:59am this morning.
As the New Year festivities were under way across the country, Ireland's newest citizens were making their entrance to world.
The first babies of 2025 have begun to arrive in maternity hospitals around the country.
Among them, Rebeka Girault Mohit and Kabir Mohit from Athy, welcomed a baby boy at 2:59am at the Midland Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.
The family from Athy, Co Kildare have another little boy who will turn one tomorrow.
People born today are the first of a new generation, known as Generation Beta.
