SOCCER

Shamrock Rovers will be presented with the League of Ireland Premier Division title after tonight's game at home to Sligo Rovers on the final regular Friday of the season.

Kick off at Tallaght Stadium is at 7.45 and that's the start time for all of the matches.

Shelbourne can wrap up fourth spot and a possible European place if they win away to Drogheda.

In the other matches, Bohemians host Cork City, it's Derry City versus St Patrick's Athletic to determine who finishes second, and UCD take on Dundalk.

In the English Championship, the leaders Leicester City host Leeds United.

8pm is the kick off time.

RUGBY

La Rochelle coach Ronan O'Gara has praised South Africa for their achievement in winning the World Cup last weekend.

The Springboks beat New Zealand by one point in Paris to win back to back titles.

Former Ireland out-half O'Gara says it takes a special group to win knockout tournament games.

GOLF

Ireland's Conor Purcell is 1 under par ahead of his second round at the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final in Spain.

He's two shots off the pace and needs to finish in the top 20 by Sunday to earn his DP World Tour card for next season.

CRICKET

At the World Cup today, the Netherlands play Afghanistan.

HORSE RACING

It's day one of the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita just outside Los Angeles.

There are a host of Irish trained horses running, with Aidan O'Brien's 'River Tiber' favourite for the Juvenile Turf race.

There is also a meeting at Dundalk today from 5pm
