GAELIC GAMES

Both Allenwood and Milltown are aiming to secure their place in a Provincial final this afternoon.

Allenwood take on Ballylinan of Laois in the AIB Leinster Club Intermediate Football Championship semi finals.

That match throws in at O’Moore Park at 1.30.

Milltown travel to Westmeath to play Kilbeggan Shamrocks in the Junior Football Championship semi finals.

SOCCER

The Republic of Ireland take on the Netherlands in Amsterdma this evening.

It is the Boys in Green’s final Euro 2024 qualification Group B away game.

RUGBY

A host of Ireland World Cup players return to the Leinster team for this evening’s URC game against the Scarlets at the RDS.

There’s also a third provincial start for Suncroft out-half Sam Prendergast.

Eadestown’s Tadhg Beirne and Peter O’Mahony are back in the Munster pack for the 5.15  meeting with the Stormers at Thomond Park.

MOTORSPORT

Charles Leclerc has claimed pole position for the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Ferrari dominated qualifying with Leclerc just quicker than team-mate Carlos Sainz, who has a 10-place grid penalty and will start 12th.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen, third but will join Leclerc on the front row of the grid.

BASKETBALL


The MissQuote.ie Women’s Super League resumes this weekend after a two week break.


Undefeated Leixlip’s FloMAX Liffey Celtics are home to 7th place Catalyst Fr.Matthews this evening at 7pm in the Leixlip Amenities Centre.


Celtic’s are the only unbeaten team in the League; they are 2nd on score difference from Brunell who have played one game more.
