Government To Sign Regulations For New E-Scooters Measures

Further planned legislation banning all under 18s from using e-scooters has been delayed a number of months while the Government consults with the EU on foot of legal advice.

Work is also underway to establish an ownership register later in the year.

Meanwhile, a planned increase in the age limit to use an e-scooter, from 16 to 18, has been delayed.

It comes as the Government consults with the EU on foot of legal advice.

While regulations will be signed later requiring anyone on an e-scooter to wear a hi-vis and helmet, with the rules taking effect on Friday.
